Patricia Cecala

Founder CEO

My name is Patricia Cecala. I have lived in Mercer County my entire life, and I pursued my education at West Virginia University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Subsequently, I obtained a Master's in School Counseling from Rutgers University and completed a non-profit management program at Mercer County Community College.

In December 2017, I founded and began operating Empowering Lives Through Opportunity LLC, following nearly two decades of experience in the industry. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse population of individuals with varying disabilities, which has equipped me with the skills and insights necessary to provide comprehensive support while understanding the unique needs of individuals and their families.

Additionally, I am a mother to two children, Louis and Bianca, and I share my home with two pets, Carmine and Zumba. Outside of my professional commitments, I enjoy exercising, cooking, engaging in home improvement projects, going to the beach, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Jennifer Medina

Support Coordinator

My name is Jennifer Medina, and I live in Burlington County with my husband and two children, Juliana and Juan. I began my college journey at Burlington County College, where I initially pursued a degree in Fine Arts. However, my passion quickly shifted to social work, as I have always enjoyed helping others in any way I can from a young age. After completing my associate degree, I attended Rutgers University in Camden, where I earned a bachelor's degree in social work. A few years later, I decided to pursue a master's degree in social work through Rutgers’ online program, graduating in 2020.

During my studies, I interned at group homes as a clinical intern while also working at a local diner. I started my career as a Support Coordinator in 2018, managing a small number of clients, until I was hired by Empowering Lives Through Opportunity. This opportunity allowed me to grow professionally, and my career has really taken off since then. Our amazing team genuinely cares about each individual we serve, going the extra mile to ensure the best quality of life for them. We advocate for those who need a voice the most.

Outside of my career, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, going to the beach, and cooking.
